I am in the process of trying to figure out how to split the block to replace a stuck timing chain.

On the bottom of the block there are large plug screw and under those screws are torx flanged screws. Do I have to remove these to split the block?

Any pictures of guidance is much appreciated!

Hi Sam,

Yes you need to remove the torx screws under the plugs to split the block, you also need to remove all the smaller torx screws around the outside of the case. When you re-assemble the engine make sure you use the correct torque settings for the bolts, and tighten them in the correct order.... it's very important!

How did you break the chain?
