Good afternoon,
I just recently bought the boat, knowing that it didnt start.. When I turn it over it isnt turning over with the force that the boat should turn over.. It has a brand new battery and I even hooked it up to a booster to see if that was the issue.. My question is is there a way to test the starter? I am thinking/hoping that the starter isnt turning the engine over enough. Also I checked the connections at the battery and the starter..

Thanks

First question, am I correct that you bought the boat knowing it didn't start? If so, why was the seller selling it?

The starter is easy to get to and replace but are you sure your battery is good. Can you try another battery from a known good source?

Yes I bought the boat where it didnt start.. The owner didnt want to deal with it and decided to just sell the boat and take the money.. They own restaurants and with COVID they are just trying to stay above water. She is also going through a divorce and the boat was the husbands so... she sold it to me. I have tried another battery, I also even hooked up a jump pack to help out and still nothing..

I have ordered a new starter, starter solenoid, I checked all of the grounds and cables for corrosion. I also ordered a oil extractor so that I can change the oil.. the oil looks clean on the stick but I really wanna see the filter and see if there is metal in there. I also ordered a pump to syphon out the old fuel as its 2 years old and is jumk by now.. That could be one of the reasons that boat is not starting.
