Guys,

Since I started boating this year, I noticed that my throttle lever does nothing between 3/4 to full. So basically, I reach about 7100RPM max and even if I keep pushing the lever, the engine will not rev faster. Top speed is about 37MPH. I know something is wrong. I'm not looking to ride to the wall all the time, but I want to get back what I had.

I asked the dealer about it and of course wants to see the boat for some tests. It's in the water at the marina and would rather find and fix myself if I could, but not sure where to look. The dealer said the lever is electronic (no throttle cable). Any hint?

Thanks!

just putting it out there aint there like a speed key thing that reduces the speed? maybe calibration between fly by wire system too.

Yes the throttle is electronic but there is still a short throttle cable connected to the throttle sensor, which translates the throttle lever position to an electric signal. In my Challenger 210 the throttle sensor is located in console area behind the dash which is accessible from the bow seat. The throttle sensor has an arm which you can move manually. Next time you're out you can have a buddy move this arm manually to see if you get more throttle past your current full throttle position. This would quickly verify whether or not the cable is correctly adjusted.

Ok. I'll look into that. I am looking at the parts diagram for the '2012 - SP - 180 - Control Handle' and can't see it. I'll try and look around.
