hi Folks

this is not my first 230 challenger but the first that sprays water from the rear over the platform to the back cushions.

this seams to happen at any Speed over 30 mph.

anyone had this before and know the Problem?

i have the boat in the water now, will take it out in a few days. first thought was that the reverse gates might be a bit to low?

thanks for any help, patrick

I'm thinking your grate isn't all the way up. There is a stop... just make sure it's engaged.

If you can't find the cause of it, have a buddy with a jet ski follow you and they can at least see the area that the water is jetting up from.

It does make sense that it is the gate though.

This is not the case on my 230 sp .... the seats are perfectly dry after long runs anywhere between 20-50 mph

I would suspect the lift gates as well - can you post a pic of the boats stern with the gates in F N and Reverse?

Went out to dinner tonight on the Doo - shot this on the way back.

Teaching my 14 year old daughter to drive the boat - so this is just a quick video. This is 30 mph - no spray on the rear seats at all.

PS This was shot right of Jamestown Island - When I switch to the bow view thats the orginal island - although due to the distance you cannot see much - when I switch to Port side view - you can almost see the 3 ships that are docked at the museum there - The Susan Constant, Godspeed and Discovery – re-creations of three ships that brought English colonists to Virginia in 1607 – are moored at Jamestown Settlement’s pier for visitors to explore...

wow, thaks for the Video! looks very clean at the rear, no spray.. i will make the same Video on mine so i can compare. not quite shure when i will able to make it - to big waves here now and it Looks like it will like this the whole week..

here is a Video, i know ist not very helpfull..

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1XCb6FEsEjE&feature=youtu.be ( new link below)

what i can tell is that the water coming out of the nozzle is not Close to the grate, so that cant be the Problem. could someone confirm that the cooling plates leave this Kind of wave as you see here? i think the sides of the cooling plates should be sealed so this dosent happen.. but this will not be my Problem. what i do notice is the the water coming out of the nozzle is not nice and and round, on one side of the nozzle the water sprays to the side.

could my issue be that the nozzels are not adjusted correct? i mean that thay might not be directed 100% zu the rear.

is there a step by step to do of how to adjust the distance of the nozzles?

thanks, patrick
