2012 180 Challenger SE tower too tall for garage clearance when folded

Pretty random question, anyone ever experimented with having their tower modified to make the clearance shorter when folded? I'll be keeping mine in the garage, and only have about 3 inches of clearance over the windshield at the garage door opening. I love their design and how easy the tower is to drop. However, the forward-swept tower adds about 7-8 inches when folded down, as it sits on top of the peak of the windshield. Since it's very tall when set up with the bimini, I was considering the possibility of getting a fabricator to cut it down some, so that when laid down it didn't go all the way up over the peak of the windshield.

Have the same issue with my 230sp, its very easy to take the tower off, 2 screws, 4 hands and 3 mins.

No way i would alter the tower.

Is it to tall for the garage door itself? Specifically, if the door open the entire way of the door opening, would it fit then?
