2011 RXP-X P1502 fault

Hi guys,

Been racking my brain over this one for a few weeks but took the ski out ran fine like normal then after about a half an hour of use turned it off and then wouldn't turn back on. It is throwing the P1502 TOPS fault code.

So I've been through all the fixes in the shop manual and everything seems to be ok?

One more thing, when putting the DESS post in I do not hear the two beeps that you normally hear and when I first put the key on the relay in the fuse box goes mental clicking very rapidly and then stops after 10 seconds or so.

After a while it will throw the fault code, prime the fuel pump then go to starts a small kick over then throws the code, beeps and won't start.

Anyone have any ideas on this?

Rapid clicking and or buzzing is almost always a battery or cable issue. Get the battery load tested, pull the cable ends and clean them well. Wiggle the ends. If they crunch or white powder comes out replace them. Reinstall using dielectric grease.

UPDATE: thanks for the help, played around with all of my negatives and the buzzing has gone.

Now I have pulled the TOPS sensor again and checked the resistance, manual says upright the resistance should read approximately 35 OHMS, it is reading 25 OHMS surely 25 isn't *approximately* 35???

Will see if i can get a new TOPS sensor and see how i go...
