Hey guys.... installed new impeller and wear ring on a 2011 130 gti. Everything went smoothly with the removal and then install. Started and ran once, for a few seconds, then I turned it off. Heard a beep on that first start, so I decided to start again to be sure everything was kosher. Now it beeps, no start, and doesn't want to turn over. It will kind of turn over a few times until I get another beep alarm, and then check engine. Thanks.

Not a whole lot yet, ,other than fully charge the battery. I checked the battery and volts were sitting at 11.7. It had been sitting for the winter of course, and I hadn't taken the battery out yet to keep on a tender, cause I knew I wanted to do this work. So, charged over night, gonna try this morning and see if it just didn't have enough juice to turn the motor with the new wear ring and all.

Remember voltage is just one item to check on the battery. You can have a battery with 12.8 volts (full charged), and it doesn't have the rated cold-cranking amperage, so make sure you check CCA as well.

Thanks for your interest and tips on the battery. I did end up checking that after it had a full charge over night, just to be sure. Turns out, that's all it was, the battery was too weak to turn the new impeller and wear I guess. The gauge cluster was acting kind of funny too, which made me think the weak battery was causing all the beeps, just a guess. Thanks again, maybe this post can help the next guy when he goes to do a new impeller and ring, and wonders why it's not turning, especially if it's in the off season and the battery has been sitting a bit. Thanks again!
