I just picked up the boat from service (raped by the way) and was putting all my stuff back in and had a quick question.. On the "driver side" of the boat in the rear there is the grille that has the hosing that runs into the engine area with a fan.. I thought the passenger side had this hosing and fan also but saw that it doesnt.. just wanted to double check if its supposed to be on both sides or just the one.. if its just the one then would there be any problem ziptieing a quick connect for my battery tender?

They should have two fans. I've heard of dealers taking one out as a money making scheme because they're costly to replace, just like copper!

Seriously, I beleive it should only have the fan on one side. The other side vent would then act like an "intake" when the fan's on. You might actually be doing a disservice to the venting of the engine compartment if you added another fan, unless you had the air blowing in...

Thanks for the info.. I could have sworn that both sides had the black tubing that runs from the vent into the compartment.. I guess it was just the one side.. Makes the install of the quick connect battery tender wire that much easier lol.. Now I can just run the wire up through the open vent and ziptie it there.. Thanks again for the info..

There is only one blower, but there are two tubes going up for ventilation. NMMA standards require a certain amount of sq in surface area for ventilation, which is why you have vents on both sides. With one fan pushing the air out, it can pull fresh air in from the outside from the other hose vent.

That is fine. You still have the vent on both sides, which is really what matters. The main reason for the tubing is to have a direction to vent the fumes and to help get the blower a little closer to the fuel tank. You are still good to go.
