I have a 2009 challenger 230 se and Im looking for a tower to go on the boat. Can anyone recommend a good one oem or not. thanks

Mt1...

I think many of our members use the MT1 monster tower. There was a member who had one for sale the first part of this past year for about $800 bucks, if I remember right.

Their tower is popular but also a bit pricey. You might google "Wake Towers" and see what other web-sites you come up with.........

thinking of the say

i was thinking about doing the same on my 09 challenger 180 se, can anyone shed some light on the difficulty of the install?

Mt1....

Thought the MT1 is suppose to be universal and a easy fit, I've understood from many members that getting to the bolts on the forward/starboard leg is pretty hard to do on certain boat applications. I'm not sure what boat they had.

The boats that are designed for the wake towers usually already have an indent in the fiberglass where it sits and reinforced fiberglass and backing plate. If you do not have one pre-designed for the tower, make sure you follow all the instructions, that include a certain size backing plate, usually made from treated wood.........

when i bought mine

when i bought my 180 challenger se they had one right next to it with a tower, but wanted almost 5k more for the same damn thing just with the tower. would not budge on the price, probably all b*llshit.

what does it come with from the factory? seadoo oem, or monster, or what?

BRP and towers....

I'm not sure who carries the BRP tower. I'd bet they have a contract with someone who designs their tower specially for BRP. It could be a standard design.

I don't have one but have read about them and seen them. So, I'll see if someone else will chime in and tell you what their experiences are.

I know, you can pick one up for under $1000.......

The 5k extra they wanted is normal for the stealerships. Just this week, there was a member come in and say he had to take his ski to the shop. Long story short, they said the engine miss was in the pump. Took the pump off, told him it had to be rebuilt to the tune of $1000 bucks. The freakin pump kit's only $50 bucks or so..........so, go figure.

I get so frustrated when I hear these stories. .....of course, they are the reason I enjoy this forum. I can help people and that keeps those stealerships from making any money on our people here......

:)

amen to that s@#$. open to anyone else who has any experiences or comments, i think this may be my winter project if i can get some positive info on it

MT1 Monster Tower

I added a MT1 tower to my 180 challenger last summer. It's solid and looks good. I had my local dealership install it and it took them about seven hours.
