Supercharged 150 speedater.
was out on lake today having fun, all was good. Turned off engine and had lunch, when I started back up and engaged forward it felt like there was something in the grate. runs rough past 4000rpm, no speed etc...
jumped over and had a look with flashlight, all looks good into the impeller, doesnt appear to be blockage. did the usual reverse trying to clear anything out but this didn't work. finally had to limp home at 3600rpm 9MPH.
Checked plugs on the dock and they appear fine.

Thoughts before I yard it out and take to dealer?
oh, and there was no over heat alarms etc...
Thanks

You could try changing the spark plugs.
How many hours are on it? It is possible the washers in the super charger went bad, but it just wouldn't have any power above say 6500 rpm's. You could check the washers by removing the intake tube and seeing if the fan blades turn by hand. If they do...they need replacing.

30 hours on boat
plugs look good and dry
once past 4800rpm it just sounds bad (loud) and no more power, very weird.

I had a similair issue and there was a small stick stuck between 2 impeller blades that I had to pry out, might want to get a really good look at your intake area....I could be wrong, just sounds similair

Well I'll be damned!
there was a stick wedged between two impeller blades, and I mean WEDGED.
pulled the grate off, reached in with pliers and managed to get it out.
Of course now I can't get the bow grate bolt back in, it just turns and turns and turns.
Oh well one problem down, 1 to go.
Thanks for the post Atchison!

Sweet!
Thanks for that, as for the silicone, what do you put it on?
The bolt before you push thru hole, or the bolt/nut on the engine compartment side?
silicone recomendation?
Thanks again!
This forum already saved me big $$$

Not a problem, I have been good finding issues with my new seadoo, I love the thing, but I'm usually good at causing the most random things to go wrong.

Ok, got the bolt out last night, it isn't fun at all and I have all the fibreglass slivers and cuts to prove it.
There was a big gob of silicone type goop over the nut which had to be cut away with a small exacto knife before I could get a wrench on it.
So it's out. Now picking up some 3M-4200 poly to re-seal it once I put it back in. Any suggestions on how to seal this properly?
