Hoping to get some answers here as I looked on the the site and didn't see what I was looking for.

The gross weight listed on the Seadoo site for this boat is just over 4000 lbs. I'm thinking about pulling off a deal for a new 2010 Ford Explorer. It's got the six cylinder engine in it and it's rated to 5200 lbs. I currently pull it with an 03 Chevy Trailblazer and it has to work to pull it. Anyone have any experience pulling a similar sized boat with a Ford Explorer and do you think this is too much boat for the V6 with a Class III/ IV hitch to pull it.

Thanks for the help !

I pull my Utopia 205 with a Chrysler Pacifica and it works just fine. I don't foresee any problem unless you are pulling up and down either the Rocky's or the Smokey's.

My brother has an exploder... and I've used it to tow a few times, and it does fine. BUT... everyone has a different view of what is fine. So... I should say... it will get you to the lake safely.

Last thing... the gross isn't what you will be towing. Unless you are planning on driving around with people in it.

Right now, I pull my Sportster around with a Dodge 2500 Diesel, and even on the biggest hills, I don't know it's back there. It's kind of like a midget on a fat woman.

I just checked out SeaDoo's web site, and you are looking at about 3400 Lbs with the boat on the trailer, and full of fuel.

Good feedback

Well I solved the problem on my own. We pick up a new Explorer and decided on a v8 with the tow package.

Given Doc Honda's info I can stack one on top of the other and not worry about it. I'm looking forward to the extra torque this motor brings.

Thanks for the feedback everyone!
