I had a 1998 Sea Doo Speedster for the past 6 years and recently I upgraded and bought a 2008 Speedster 200.

The boat is in great shape - low hours and runs great. My mechanic was telling me that unlike my 1998 - I could leave
the 2008 Speedster in the water and docked during the summer without having to pull it out everyday.

So I was wondering what do most of you do??

My 1998 speedster - I pulled it out of the water at the end of each day because it did leak water into the engine compartment just sitting
and no doubt it would have eventually drained the battery running the sump pump.

I did have the 2008 in the water and ran it for a few hours - prior to winterizing and when I pulled it out - no water poured out of the engine compartment.

Did you ask you mechanic to explain differences between the 2008 and 1998, why one can be left unattended and the other cannot?

I don't leave my boats in the water unattended, but I tend to own my boats for decades and I store them under a roof.
