I have a 2008 Speedster and the cable/latch that is located in the compartment in front of the driver ... that actually opens the rear engine/storage compartment became very stiff yesterday
- I sprayed a bit of WD-40 hoping that it would loosen up. Unfortunately, it did not loosen & it remains very stiff to operate.
When I tried to pull on the latch again, it actually pulled the assembly/cable out of it's mounting hole. The cable remains very stiff
1) Is there a way to lubricate & replace the cable?
2) Is anyone aware of a YouTube Video that shows how to replace the cable ???
3) Will I have to buy a new cable (if so, any idea of the cost) & could I replace it vs. paying a boat mechanic/dealer to replace it?

Your help & advice would be appreciated
thx!
Shaun

you can lube the cable, remove the pull handle, or if you can unhook the other end, place a length of tubing over the end and clamp, then fill the tube with lubricate (oil) and secure the tube above the cable. Gravity will do the rest. You can also add a valve to the end and pressurize to force the oil thru.

forgot to mention, use a clear tubing, so you can monitor the oil level. Also if you can get to the other end, wrap it in a rag to catch any excess.
