I just put my brand new 2008 sedoo challenger in the water for the first time and 12 to 15 minuites into our ride I get on it to bring it up to plane and the warning sound and oil light comes on so I turn it off and then idle back to the dock about 5 minutes away ,if I brought above idle the oil light and warnig would sound,so I get it home and call the dealer and they say bring it in on monday also the oil is all in the bilge ,I am pissed here it is summer and I bought it back in december and now this happens ,does any body build anything without problems anymore!does anyone think if they find the leak and put oil in it it will be ok ,the temp warning never sounded or lit up! I just want a new boat if the motor is bad maybe a 09 YAH YAH what a disapointment ! Has anybody heard of this happening!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'd relax first of all till you find out what caused the problem. I'm sure the dealer will have it all taken care of once he gets it.

the dealer fixing it isn't the point...the point is that he is pi$$ed because he has a brand new boat that he cannot use.

I would be VERY upset as well. I would hate to be the dealer come monday morning.

Good luck and let us know what they say.

And sorry you are out of the water for the weekend. That really SUCKS!

BUT, if the engine hasn't seized, it likely had oil from the bottom of the tank or somewhere. It wouldn't run long, maybe a couple seconds, without oil without seizing, so it most likely had SOME oil in it to keep it safe. So you are probably going to be OK once they fix the broken hose or whatever causing the leak.

Terrye, I feel your pain.

I have a 2008 Challenger 180 as well and the first year i was only out in it 3 times before I had to bring it to the dealer due to stress cracks on the back deck and the radio died. The fiberglass was an obvious defect and it was taken to a body shop to be fixed. Was to take only 2 weeks. The dealer in the mean time closed down that next week. My boat sat all last summer and winter at the body shop who never got paid till early this spring by BRP. What a mess.

Is that a custom tower on your 180?

I noticed in your profile there is a very cool looking rear piece on your Challenger. I feel your pain on the fiberglass issue. I the finish and interior fit on the fiberglass is really pitiful. We have have several repairs done by our dealer. (Extended warranty thank you!)

sorry to take over this thread but...
I live in Virginia Beach and am looking at a buying a new Utopia 205. Where did you end up buying from and where to do you get service done??
Thanks!

Casey Cycle City in Newport News sells SeaDoo boats

But I don't buy anything from them if I can help it.
It used to be that you needed to go to Richmond to get a deal on a boat, near Ashland I believe. There is also a dealership in Va Beach I believe

Tidewater Dealers

Guys,
I live in Va beach. There is one on Va Beach Blvd just past the split on Laskin Road. Great mechanic but tried to sell me an '08 150 with a tower for $15K 2 weeks ago when a dealer in NC would do the same boat for $12,500. Also there is one in Chesapeake. A friend with a PW said that Casey in NN was great??
