Hi, I have an 08 challenger 180 with 215hp
Just wondering what it's top speed is roughly.
I have had the supercharger rebuilt.
I went out Sunday with 3 adults and 2 kids in the boat and at 7000rpm it was going 30 mph according to the Seadoo speedometer.
Is this about right?
Just curious since the supercharger was rebuilt, don't know if it's kicking in.

It should be faster then that...I can get mine around 43 with a couple of adults in it....super charger sounds good if your getting the high rpm's..... Check clearance on wear ring and check your bellow/carbon seal....

Ok thanks I'll check those things out

with your supercharge rebuilt it is suppose to rev a 8100 rpm at wot, if not, check if no leak from supercharger, also check your oil level if it has no more than recommend, to much oil on those engine reduce rpm. hope this help.

Not sure what that boat uses to get the boat speed- the water wheel or gps but I would try a actual gps on your phone and see what you get.

That speed at 30 on speedo seems about right. Do use a GPS speedometer on your smart phone. With two people and full tank I was running about 38. I have gotten 43 on super smooth water and a cool air temp.

I haven't been able to check these things out yet since boat is at the lake. I will try all suggestions and will let everyone know.
Thanks for the replies.

My 2009 180SE 255 HP per water wheel speedomoder will do 90-95 kph about 50 MPH, however it reads about 10% high according to my GPS.
It doesn't seem to get all the way up to 8000 RPM at WOT any more (7800 ish), but seems to go as fast as ever. 130 hours only. I am expecting the supercharger to perform better/longer than the earlier models.

Hi All
My 2009 se 255hp does 49 according to dash and on gps does 51mph
Max rpm is around the 7800
If your not getting high 40's I would strongly suggest the wear ring is inspected as a small increase in gap 1-2mm will really rob you of top end speed.
Also make sure your impeller is in near perfect condition, any pitting or dents on leading edge will cause cavitation and once again rob you of speed.

My 2008 Challenger with 2 adults, and a full tank went 46mph bone stock

I needed to do a supercharger rebuild, and as I own a powersports company everything was done in house. At the same time I installed a supercharger wheel upgrade, and bosch injectors. I also installed a Solas prop, and a Stainless steel wear ring. Now the boat runs 53-54 mph with 2 adults in it at 8180 rpm. I will tell you this boat is extremely fun now, just need to get trim tabs installed on it.

This is an old thread...but thought I'd put my 2 cents in.
I've got a 2010 Challenger 180, 215HP, and get about 47 mph at 7800 rpm.

I have a 2008 Challenger 180 with a 215 hp engine and go about 44/45 mph at 7800 rpm. Clocked with a Lowrance GPS.
