Hello guys.. I purchased a Sea doo challenger 230 in 2011 brand new used it for two years and then was stored.. in my country it's very hot so was under a shed and covered for 5 years it's a lot I kno but engine and boat in very good condition.. I wanted to use it this season so when I was doing the normal check ups oil .. filters etc and want to fire a test first time I put on the dees key I got the normal two peeps but when I push start nothing happens in both engines.. now after many failure when Iput key it beebs once and samething nothing happens .. I need help.. please note that we don't have a dealer here or mechanics with computers all done manually. Thanks

Do you hear any noises when you try starting up the engine? If you hear nothing, I would have your battery checked and make sure its not dead and outputs at the proper voltage, especially if it has sat for that long. I would also do a complete service on the engines. Full oil change, with oil filter, replace spark plugs, grease and lubricate everything. Not sure about fuel, but it is most likely bad and still inside your fuel system and won't ignite properly. But ignore the fuel issue for now. Need to ensure you have proper voltage and amperage to fire up the system. But before you even fire up the engines, I would HIGHLY recommend replacing your oil, oil filter, and spark plugs first. Once you have done that, try firing them up.

Make sure your emergency engine cut lanyard is connected. It’s so simple but last year in my first year with our Sea-Doo it took me 45 minutes to figure out the same problem your having & it was just because I didn’t have my lanyard connected.

Oil filter.. air filter everything changed even the solenoid changed i even reprogrammed the dess key and when I put the key on I get two and sometimes three high notch beebs try to push to start nothing happens at all .. I can only hear the fuel pump running but that's it totally dead .. and yes even the battery is brand new.. I will try to upload a video tomorrow to show u what happens

I don't have the emergency lanyard only the main one dess key

That is interesting. Is your dess key just the key part only? No lanyard or tether connected to it? When you take a video tomorrow, can you attach a picture of your key? If you only have just the key, without a tether, as seen in the attached pictures, then that is your problem. Typically people connect the emergency lanyard tether, that connects to the boat's engine kill switch, directly to their key. I personally do since I'm on a boat, not a jet ski, and not really able to do anything that could throw me off or out of the bucket seat. But again, if that lanyard isn't connected to the boat's kill switch, the engines will not turn on, possibly giving you that original 1 beep. And if that is the case, then you will not hear much of an attempt to start the engines.

According to your first post, with hearing 1 long beep, if you can confirm, then that indicates your shifter lever is not in he neutral position, as well as the tether not attached to the kill switch. If the levers are in the right position and tether is connected, can you also include in your video, all the beeps made, along with a clear view of your gauge cluster display on startup, as well as your throttle and shifter levers?

According to the owners manual for beep codes, which I am attaching a picture of, go through and see what your beeps mean or upload your video and I can help you if need be. At this point, id would turn the key all the way which allows the boat to perform the self check. When this happens, you should see the gauge cluster light up and the needles for the tachometer sweeping up to 10K RPM and back down, with the lights going away after the needles come back to 0. Then look at your voltage gauge and write down what it says. If it is 12V, then battery is fine, as you said, and connected properly. At this point, still wouldn't suggest firing up the engines just yet. Take the key out and power down the boat, using the battery switch. After doing that, check your fuses around the boat and see if anything is blown.

But do upload the video you take and I, as well as others, can review it and see if we can provide any additional help.

My 07 230 challenger does not have a safety lanyard only DESS, if not on securely won't get the two beeps. Need the two beeps to start otherwise no go. One thing to check I know sounds silly, see how many wires are going to be negative post on battery. When I put battery back in one had slipped down and was out of site, fuel pump turned on but no start. Once I connected the 3rd line then started right up.
