Just bought a new 2008 Islandia, Part #1 Tell me how you like yours. Part #2 Any changes from 2008, 2009, 2010 Models? Part #3 Can the ski pole handle pulling a tuber? Thanks!

Welcome to the seadoo forum. You need to add you seadoo information like model and year to your avatar for future questions and problems. Part#1...uh I'm sure you'll get some response to that one...#2...no changes that I'm aware of. #3 Yes, that's what it there for.

2009 Islandia

I got the 2009 Islandia back in March. It is my first boat of any kind and I like it very much. The only problem I have had with it is that the second trip on it the engine blowers stopped working and it ended up being a bad (resistive) pin on the output of the Twin Engine controller (one of the fuse blocks behind the Dash.) The only difference between the 2008 an 2009 is that they eliminated a couple of nice features that are on the 2008. I first looked at a 2008 and decided to wait until the 2009 was in production so I could get the latest modal. When I picked up the boat only then did I discover that the 2009 no longer has that fountain/wading pool feature, or the ski poll you mentioned.
Those are the only differences. I do not know if anything else changed with 2010. I only put about 25 hours on it so far because my wife ended up falling on a steep boat walkway and breaking her ankle after the first week we were vacationing with it. Bummer! That kind of ended my summers activities. Oh well looking forward to next summer. Hope you enjoy yours!

Thanks all for the info.
Does anyone know why they removed the ski pole on the 2009 model, was there a problem with it?

Ski Pole

They claim it is to de-clutter the swim platform, but I think they were just getting cheep and deleting what they could to save themselves money.

To be honest I have not seen the need to buy that Pole. The eye loop on the rear center is good enough, or has been for me.

For what it's worth......
I have an older Islandia ('05). We found towing from the loop put people thru the rooster tail too much, unless we used quite a long tow-line. Also, the wakeboarders wanted 'big air'.

We put on an aftermarket tower (MonsterTower). For the amount of towing/tubing,boarding we do, it was great. This has made an already versatile boat even better.

Enjoy the boat.............JB
