2008 GTX 215 Starts without the key

My GTX was parked at the dock when it started to beep like it does when you put the key in. I hit the start button with no key and it took off. I shut it down it continued to have power after I shut it down. The display was lit and it continued to beep. I went for a ride with the safety strap and key in I pulled the key out and it still kept running, How dangerous. Has anyone ever heard of this before. It is a brand new unit 2 hrs on it. I am taking it to the dealer

I have a 2008 RXT-X and we have had the same problem yesterday. We have 2 hours on our jetski and pulled the key out and the engine stayed on. We had to disconnect the connectors in the front of the jetski in order to turn off the display. Took it out this morning again and it worked fine. Going to bring it in to the dealer tomorrow morning. Hopefully they know why pulling the landyard or DESS key doesn't turn off the engine.

Yes! My 06 and Pilfers ride. No solutions yet.

Hey i got it back from the dealer. I replaced the DESS Post and took it out a couple of times and haven't had the problem yet. Hope this helps everyone else.
