So I have a 2008 Seadoo 180 Challenger SE with 22 hours on it. Yesterday my port side seat came apart. The screws that are under the cusion and screw down to the mounting plate all came out. They basically stripped off the mounting plate. You would think Seadoo would have put nuts at the bottom of the screws? Has anyone else seen this?

Also what problems have you had with your 08 Challeger?

I also had a problem with the coolant leaking. It was under warranty and they fixed it. I'm thinking that I better get the extended warranty before my warranty runs out.

I had a problem with my tower not coming together properly after you collapse it. After a year and 3 months they finally replaced the whole tower. I also had a problem with some fuses apparently hanging too low in the bilge and corroding and melting apart. This took 4 trips to the dealership and over $500 in repairs to correct even though I have the extended warranty.

Other than that the boat has been great. I have somewhere between 80-100 hours on mine.

Wait why would it cost you a dime on an '08 boat? I thought they came from the factory w/a 2 year warranty.

My 08 Challenger 180 had problems with the Hull. Back Deck area was so thin that it was full of stress cracks only 3 hours into it. Had a body shop redo it under warranty. They said it must have been a defect. Also my radio broke second time out. Since then I have blown a fuse on my automatic bilge pump switch and speedometer doesnt work. I just passed only 10 hours so far.

I think i'm going to get the extended warranty after all. I was going to bring the boat in for the seat but I think I just fix it myself since they would probrably keep it for a week and it would only cost me about five buckes in nuts and bolts.

Check your fuses, they may all be installed correctly according to the labels, but the fuse block is probably wired wrong. Mine and several others are wired wrong, it may say bilge 15a and actually be going to the radio or something. Your bilge pump may have too small a fuse even though its labeled correctly. Pull one fuse at a time and make sure each one protects what its label says. I had to relabel the whole fuse block and move the fuses so the correct ratings were in place.

They must have hired some idiot to put that part together.

I have not had a problem with the bilg pump since it was fixed. The problem I think, was when I brougth the boat to dealer last fall (just after i got it winterized) to have the back deck fixed. The dealer soon went out of business and my boat sat at the body shop all winter long. It was a mess. But the battery never got disconnected and I think with water in the hull, the pump may have frozen and tried to kick on burning out the fuse. But its all better now. I didnt actually replace the fuse myself the tech did. But I will definetly look into the fuses this fall when I take it out of the water. The speedometer, the tech says, is in the sensor. There is some sort of magnet that either goes bad or something. Still only 10 hours and all these problems. This is my first SeaDoo. Had all yama in the past. Not sure what my next will be.
