I just picked up this boat with only 24 hours on it. I found myself in unexpected shallow water during low tied (1ft) and all of a sudden had bad vibration. I was unable to get the RPM above 3500 RPM. I tried stopping shutting down, forwards and reverse trick but unable to shake it. Pulled the oat from the water and absolutely could not see anything caught up in the impeller or pump. The wear ring look good with no chunks out of it and there did not look like I could slip a piece of paper between the blade and ring. I hope that I did not damage the drive shaft. Any thoughts?

I would look a bit harder....Once my boat behaved exactly like yours, I tried the usual F/R, no luck, limped back, ran it on the trailer, looked and felt up inside the intake and found nothing. I took it home planning to visit the dealer the next day. Next morning I decided to make one final inspection, this time in a nice dry garage instead of a wet boat launch, and with a bright light and a mirror...What I found was a small piece of wood, a hard knot. It was between the impeller and the ring toward the back, the impeller had cut a perfect groove in the wood so it was wedged tight, and the rotation of the impeller kept it firmly in place I had to reach my entire arm up the intake, using a small screw driver I pried it free,(spun it the reverse of the groove pattern), took my boat to the lake and everything was back to normal. Hopefully your problem is similar? Good luck, and happy boating!

Thanks timeman. I rechecked and just could not see anything. I decided to take the boat and put it back in the water to see if it fell out. Thanfully the boat was fine. I believe that when I was pulling the boat up to the dock performing many forward and reverse plus turning the motor on and off to load on to the trailer, the object(probably a piece of Oyster Shell) came out. Everything is fine now and I love my boat.
