2008 Challenger 180 Bimini Top "Fit" Problem?

The boat is a 2008 Challenger 180 with no tower and I'm in need of some advice on a bimini top...

I purchased a 84" wide 46" tall 6' length and the thing I dont like about it is how far hangs off the back (otherwise it's fine). When it's down it lays right on the step just before the swin platform.... basically right on the tow hook. Moving it forward off the step doesnt cover the back seats when its up.

I'm wondering if I went with a 36" tall if that would help... I'd perfer the top to lay just behind the back seat so it doesnt interfere with the step and it would be easy to step over. The catch is the reason I got the 46" was so we could stand up straight which isnt possible with the 36" and I'm not sure 10" less is enough to move it off the step.

Questions:

1) Anyone who has the the Seadoo "factory" bimini... do you know what the demensions are and how/where does it lay at when it's down? I assume the Seadoo would be the best fit but they are too pricey.

2) Is there a top that's a near duplicate of the Seadoo top?

3) Which top are some of you all using and how well does it fit?

Thanks!

Scott

I ran into a similar problem with my 98. The 46" high is what I bought, but when stored laying back, it wont fit under the cover. The company that makes them for seadoo wont tell me the size. I think a 36" would have fit perfect though. Hopefully someone can help ya for sure, but I am guessing 36" is what ya need.

I own a 2005 challenger 180. I ordered a bimini from Sea-doo thru my dealer. My husband and I put it on ourselves. We put it back further than the instructions told us too because the coverage was better that way. When the bimini is down it lays right on the top of the rear seat. It does not interfere with the step at all. I will say that you do have to bend over or sit down while underneath it. I will get the measurements for you this weekend if you want them.

That would be great... thanks!
