Hello there, I'm a first time user of this forum and I just bought my first seadoo 3 year ago. Yesterday while coasting into a friends dock I hit a sandbar with some rocks on it. I was only going about 10 mph and I killed then engine almost immediately. About half an hour later when I took it back out, it seemed to be over reving and vibrating. Today I tried it a bunch more and it is running at over 6000 rpm going only 10 mph. I went under it and cleaned out any weeds and extensively checked around the hull... Etc. No visible damage or anything.

Has anyone had similar problems to this or have any idea of what is wrong with it?

sounds like you need a new wear ring also check your impellor just in case you have damaged that also.
your wear ring is the sleave your impllor is fitted in you have got to have a very small clearance betwen this and your impellor or you will get "as you are experencing cavitation"!
the standard the wear ring is made of plastic and will damage very easy ,you can buy a stainless steel wear ring but if you instal this you run the risk of damageing your drive shaft if you pull up any rocks!
welcome to the world of jet drives .
on the up side your engine is fine its just a new wear ring you need.
you will need an inpellor removal tool for changeing the wear ring .
all the best richard

Thank you very much for your quick reply richard. That sounds like what it probably is. As the boats still on warranty, I think I will pull it out and take it to a shop before I start trying to change the wear ring myself.
Hopefully it will be an easy and inexpensive fix.

Thanks again;
Nick
