Hi,
Bought my Speedster new a couple of months ago (currently 12 hrs old). Was finishing up on the lake towing the kids on the tube. The infamous rope situation occurred but I was just starting the engine when the rope got sucked up and wrapped around the shaft...I cut the engine immediately when I heard something strange. We could not pull it free but after getting the boat home and cutting the rope free, I noticed that the grate itself had both bars cracked free at the back end of the grate. I was amazed that the rope could brake the grate so easily...
Anyone know how much a new grate costs and is it easily replaceable. Is there any other unknown damage I should possibly be aware of with this type of damage. The rope wrapped to the front and we were able to pull it back down the shaft in order to cut it free. Is there any type of seal to the front of the shaft that should be in place or is there nothing there?
Thanks in advance.
