My boat tacs out at about 7200rpm and 45 mph.

HELP!

15 hours, 10 hour service completed.

Please advise.

With 10 hours on it I would have the servicing dealer check it out, under warranty.

Hey, I did. I took it back and found out that there was no supercharger on it. The vin / hull number shows up 155hp but it has the 215 stickers on the rear and on the engine. I, of course paid supercharged dollars too. The thing that REALLY sucks about this is that the dealer where I bough it ...a month ago, is now out of business but when I took it in to my local dealer (not where I purchased it) they didn't somehow notice that it was missing a supercharger and inner cooler.

Seadoo is really giving me a run around with this, short of taking everone to court I am running out of options. SO many people had to get together and suck at their job for this to happen. Any ideas?

Do you think so? That's not good news. Nope, the paper work only has the vin number which when run comes back 155hp. I can't imagine nothing can be done. It came like that from the factory and is basically an unsellable boat. Who wants to buy a boat with 215 all over it when it's not. That's like driving a mustang with 5.0 on the trunk when it's really a 4 cylinder.

I appreciate the thoughts but I hope you're wrong.

I would seek legal council when it comes to an issue of a dealer swap out like this...I don't think anyone here can give you any real sound advice on what to do. This is just my personal opinion but I would make a couple phone calls for council.

maybe the dealer you bought it from made it look like a 215hp one, It's easy to tell if its supercharged, Cant miss the bright red supercharger on the side of the motor.....???

I hope I am wrong allso. If the factory did this then I believe that they will have to make it right. If the dealer replaced the stickers then you may be in trouble as it could be allmost inpossible to recover all your funds. But I do agree with Karl

Yeah, it looks like it's a mistake right from seadoo though, the stickers on the body are apparerntly under the clear coat???

The good news is it's only 2600 to add the sc, inner cooler and computer. Worse case I write a cheque for under 3k and it all goes away.

Funny side note, I got a survey today in the mail from brp asking how the sale went.

you have a copy of the bill of sale? shows the price you paid? you can trace the purchase back to bombardier and see if the dealer bought a 215 boat from them, or re-stickered a 155.

Yeah, I hear ya, Joel, it should be easy to spot a supercharger but in all fairness I've never seen a 150 with one. If you (or anyone) could send me a picture(s) of their engine I'd really appreciate it.

We now know that the boat and engine were stickered at Seadoo, which should help.

Pics please!

If the decals are under the clear coat I am all most certain that you are in good shape. It may take some time but I would think that the factory is going to make this right.

I don't remember seeing any vinyl lettering UNDER the paint. The seadoos aren't painted they are gelcoated.

Yes I was thinking the same thing. I thought that he may have known what he was talking about. I have not seen the new boats and was not sure if they had a clear coat on them or not. :)

stickers are usually removable, my rxtx was like that and I removed all the stickers. my challanger is like that too, atleast the big on side. I didnt pay attention to it tho

Yeah, I know what you mean, I didn't really understand it either, the good folks at brp just said they'd be able to tell and something about a clear coat? Maybe they were bluffing??? It's an odd claim I realize. For all they know I could be a lying crackhead. As it happens, I'm not ...

I just want a faster boat. Today I told brp I'd even pay the wholesale price for the parts I need, so we'll see.

I think the air intake is differnt too? I looked at an 08 155hp and it has a cold ari intake like a car, mine is boxed in. Can anyone send me a photo of an 07 155hp???

Vin Number how to tell what engine it has

My boat tacs out at about 7200rpm and 45 mph.

How do you tell from the vin number what engine the 150 has. I am buying a 150 with 215hp and I don't see anything in the vin number to say one or the other

So what ever happened with this?? Did you get it all sorted out??

Just noticed in your avatar that you now have a 215...im assuming it did get sorted out.

What is the story behind it all? I would love to know!

Matt

I actually just got the boat tonight. I spent the last hour putting turf mats in her. It's funny you mentioned the 215 on the boat. That was the problem, the boat I got was sold to me as a 215 and stickered as such, even the engine, just no Super Charger, it took a while but I got BRP to take back my boat and give me a real SC 215 ... they even threw in a wake tower so all in all I made out okay. I can't wait to see the difference.

Good stuff....glad everything worked out. I am sure you will love the new boat...not sure about the difference in top speed but you will notice a difference in acceleration thats for sure!!

Hydro turf...!

Nice!!! glad to hear you made out ok. i was thinking about getting carpet made for my boat, but how do you like the hydro-turf???

I got finished putting the hydro turf in my boat this past weekend. I bought two sheets of the purple mat. The same color that was original in my boat. The only difference is, I paid $70 bucks for mine and the set in the catalog was $300 bucks........what a big savings.

I found a page that had my mats in a drawing lay out. So, I took a pieces of paper, took a dry erase marker, dotted the outline of the imprint in the boat, then put the paper over it and traced that line. After cutting out the design I made by the tracing, I put it down on a piece of 4' X 8', 1/8" ply I had in the garage. Took a can of spray paint and used it to outline the paper template to the ply. Then, I used my jig saw to cut the ply. I laid the ply over the turf and used a razor knife to cut out the turf. The super 3M (90) made quick work to stick it in place.

I can't believe how good it came out. For the $70 bucks, you can't beat it!
I'll be putting pix up soon. I have to finish cleaning the boat first. It's kinda dirty from me in and out of it. I can't let ya'll see it till it's clean....
