Hi! So, I didn't know it was important to take note of the color of the smoke at the time, so going from memory of a couple days ago, the smoke is white-ish gray. Doesn't smell smokey. Coming out of left back side, noticed after riding for about 1/2 hr varying speeds. Not a huge amount, almost have to look over the back end to see it.

According to the previous owner and paper work that was given to us when we purchased it, this is a newly rebuilt engine /new super charger as of Sept 2012. We were told it was still in the breaking in period, so we have been taking it easy on it to start. So why the smoke?? Didn't see it the first few times we took it out on the water. We have been pulling a tube, but only going about 20-25 or so.

Also noticed when put the key in there is 2 chirps, which we have read is normal, but then it continues to intermittantly chirp until the engine is turned on. Can't tell if this is what it is supposed to do or if this is a signal to a problem. No service light engine or error message is displayed, and it runs fine. Normal??

Last question, what is the normal RPMs that should be seen while running this sweet boat? I can't tell what's normal and what's not yet. So far, the RPMs have showed an average of between 4-6000. Is this okay?

We are new at this, so forgive the very basic questions, but thats why I joined this site. Thanks for any help anyone can give!

The "smoke" you see isn't actually smoke. What you're seeing is just some water evaporating in the exhaust system. Perfectly normal after running a little.

The intermittent beeps are also normal. They are just a reminder that the lanyard is connected to the post.

You mentioned that the boat is supercharged so it should rev all the way to just over 8000 rpm at wide open throttle. Any less there's an issue somewhere. From what you described you haven't really went WOT yet. When you open her up check to see what the tach reads and report back.

So far everything seems normal. Why was the motor replaced if you don't mind me asking?

Thanks so much! That is a load off my mind. No one wants to buy a lemon!!!

I'll read the notes as to why engine was replaced and get back to you. I do recall, a note from seller when taking it in said it was blowing smoke before engine was replaced, which is why I got real nervous when I saw what I thought was smoke. I like your answers-ALOT! Thanks!
