Hello Everyone,

Our 2007 RXT was rolled upside down while being ridden in the ocean about 2 months ago. At the time, the boat was righted, restarted and brought back to the beach. The boats internal spaces were flushed with fresh water and the engine flushing procedure was followed. The engine started without problem during the flushing process.

Two months later, we face a situation where the electrical system remains completely dead upon attaching the key (no beeps, no lights, no instruments). Much time has been spent pulling connectors apart and applying WD-40 and generally looking for signs of continued moisture problems.

Through a process of experimentation, we have found that the electrical system can be brought to life by momentarily connecting a set of 3 pins (joined together with a jumper) next to the starting relay to the negative (ground). After doing this, the electricals come alive, and the engine starts and runs all day. Two observations, though. The problem returns if you let the machine sit (not running, key removed) for more than one minute. Engine stops/starts within a few seconds are not a problem. Also, we have begun to get phantom indications from the Oil and Charge indicators.

Would appreciate any thoughts you might have regarding our situation. We use our machines in a very remote location in the Philippines and the dealer in Manila offers no help except to say "you send back".

Thank you,

Jim Williams
