Blowout

I have my eye on a 2007 RXT with 26 hrs on her. The price is $6100 w/o trailer. Does that seem like a good price?

It doesn't have the washers changed out on the blower.

Seems like a pretty fair price. The 2007s usually have been going for about 10%-20% more than that from what I've seen. As you mentioned, definitely needs the washers changed so maybe you can bargain down a little lower.

Great looking SeaDoo :)

Thanks for the feedback.

I like the RXT with the extra storage capacity, 3 seats and longer length than the RXP. Saw a bunch of different ski's at the dealership last week and the RXT seems to fit my needs the best. The Wake edition is nice too, but I can't see paying extra for the ballast. If you could put gas in the ballast, that would be cool....

I'll see the ski on Wednesday ...if it doesn't sell first. I don't want to buy it sight unseen being it is 400 miles away.

Thanks for the advice you provided.

I was able to haggle him down $300 because of the washers needing to be changed out. He had got a quote of $250 to have them changed and I wiggled another $50 out of the deal.

This forum is a great source of information... :patriot:

they suggest you up date to 08' rebuild kit I paid 274.00 for the oem kit. besides washers the only other differance I could see was the depth of splines on the shaft. Still sounds like you made a heck of a deal!

Thanks. The guy was trying to back out of the deal saying he found another buyer in FL that would pay $300 more... but was able to convince him to still sell it to me at the price already agreed to. At least it worked out fine in the end.

Since there is only 26 hours on the ski, I was going to update only the washers. They have them specifically for the 06-07 year ski. Might be a washer diameter or thickness difference...not sure.

That's a good price on the complete kit.

amazing price, I wish we had deals like that up here in Canada. I just got my 06 rxp with 66 hours for 9000 with trailer but I sew a few 07's for the same price but imo, hated the look of it, looks like a girls ride :)

It only has 20 some hours, you honestly dont have to worrie about the washer change so early as they really need not be changed till 100 hours. Unless the previous owner had it floored to 68-70mph each time out :S

That is false, if any ski has the cermaic washers still installed its a ticking timebomb. Thye can blow/and have blown at as little as 10 hrs. Only the upgraded washers have the interval of 100hrs. before rebuilding.

Yeah if you are DIYer, it's not too hard to fix the supercharger yourself.

Supercharger Shaft/Clutch Kit, '08 Spec Rebuild Kit

That'll rebuild the supercharger (recommended every 100 hours by BRP) and upgrade to '08+ spec with metal washers. Nothing like peace of mind with a full rebuild.

If you just wanted to do the washer, just make sure you get the '06-07 version (yes, they are a different diameter).

Riva Heavy-duty Supercharger Clutch Washers '06-07

Any difference between the 08' PWCmuscle and OEM '08 complete rebuild kits besides the metal washers? The Riva indicates the washers as HD, but what is the difference from OEM besides being more expensive? Thickness, material hardness...? thanks, Phill

true and false, it depends on how hard the machine has been ridin. Sea doo has been building these machines for many many years and it took them many years of having superchagred rides to realize that the upgrade is better. Mine has 68/69 hours on it and pulls amazingly hard, zero hesitation, when chacked the mech said the motors and charger were as brand new.

To each their own but sure for the 400-600 for the repair for peace of mind, no biggie!

I think I found the answer to one of my questions on the GreenHulk forum.

Quote:
The understanding or concensus (spelling?) has been that the metal washers I linked are precision machined and then go thru a special hardening process, whereas the Riva washers are the same thing, except they go through a titaniam coating process.

It's been the experience of some people that the coated washers tend to glaze over and slip. Slipping is fine with metal washers, but you lose a little bit of performace when they slip. How to stop it from slipping? You need to add a very miniscule shim to increase the tension on the clutch pack.

the UNCOATED washers seem to be less susceptible to slipping.
