Happy Monday folks! Had some friend's borrow the 2007 Islandia this weekend. All was well until on the trip back in the starboard motor wouldn't start. Port motor fired right up. Rather than just cruising on the short trip in they thought they would put a jump pack on the start battery in case it was weak to fire up the starboard engine. You are probably thinking "Oh no" about now. Yeah, well as you can imagine it didn't work out well. Managed to smoke both of my original tachometers. Thankfully they didn't burn the boat down.
Not sure what melted in the tach yet, if it was just a harness. I am sure it is more complicated then that. Just happy the MPEM wasn't smoked. Anyone experience this before?
