I am the original owner of a 2007 Challenger 180. I have had a few bumps in the road with this boat....2 replacement washers (ceramic vs. metal) for the "Supercharger" being the most significant. With 72 hours it's has lost all torque. I had a "full service" done by BRP/SeaDoo and everything was good. When I'm the only weight in the boat it shutters but accelerates somewhat normal.....with a top end of about 45.....which has been historically typical of this boat. With 4 people in it it's like I forgot to take it off the trailer and "cavitates". To pull my 11 year old on a tube took every bit of driving skill I could muster to get it up over 15 mph. I have it back in the shop and they put it into the water....adjusted the throttle cable but claim that the diagnostic comes back fine.

Help!

It's drawing air past the carbon seal. You may need to replace it, or put more tension on it.

On the older 2 stroke boats, there were multiple clip positions. I'll check the parts explosion to see if your drive shaft is set up the same.

Yes, it looks like it does have 2 positions.

You can push the stainless ring toward the transom, and if you see a second groove for the clip, put the clip in there. More tension on the seal will help it from sucking air.
