Hey guys! New here. My husband and I just bought a 2007 Challenger 180 with only 7 hours on it, garage kept and perfect upholstery. I [feel like I found a diamond in the rough. Now the question is, installing a remote for a stereo on the swim platform area. Is it difficult to wire? Any recommendations on what brand? I'm leaning toward fusion.

Oh and on the second time on the water, we hit a stump. Cost 700 to fix. Day 4 out, we sucked up a tow rope. We better get better at this!

If your replacing the head unit, there are a few brands with remotes. What brand head unit is currently in the boat.

Also even with only 7 hours you will want to think about a rebuild on the supercharger. Your boat will have an 06 motor, and I don't recall what year the better washers were introduced. Someone will be along with that answer.

I recently replaced all the sound equipment in my 2010 Challenger with Kenwood stuff although I picked Kenwood more because I got a deal on all the equipment. The remotes (one on the helm and one on the stern for me) weren't that hard to wire. I would definitely recommend going to Harbor Freight and picking up a set of wire pulling rods if you don't have them already, they make it a little easier to get the cabling through the hull and they're only $10.

Here is the final result of my install.

Surprisingly the previous owner had the supercharger rebuilt. We have the receipt showing it cost almost 900 bucks. Something about metal instead of plastic something or other.

Currently we have the clarion m255 head unit. It's the original, which is obviously in perfect condition, but it isn't bluetooth capable. I bought the fusion dongle, but doesn't work with an AUX on the back. This unit doesn't have that. So now we're thinking about the clarion m606 with the wireless remote that can be attached the back swim platform.

Nate, that's funny. I took a screen shot of your led lights last night to show them to my husband.

we're now leaning toward clarion because we wouldn't have to retire the actual head unit, it's a clean swap.

Good to know the wiring to the back platform isn't that difficult though.
