While my supercharger is being rebuilt by Jerry at Green hulk, I needed to replace the hose between
the J pipe and the water box. My question is the J pipe had orange sealant when I removed it , do
I need to remove the old remaining sealer and apply new? If so can you give me the name and how
i should apply on the new hose install. Next question on the 3 holes on the J pipe do you recommend
I drill them larger if so what is the best drill size. Thanks in advance learning on my first boat.

Got the correct answer from Jerry @ Greenhulk

Yes, remove old sealant. Go to auto zone and get Permatex high temp silicone (it’s orange)

Drill the holes one drill bit size bigger. I use a 3/16” bit.

Hope that helps!
Jerry

Jerry is a good guy, glad you used him. But I am confused why you need to drill out the J pipe?

Just to help avoid small pieces and debris, from blocking the pipe and you get the over heating
alarm. Just lets the water flow better. Not rally much larger just a bit.

Just want say a big Thanks to Jerry at Green hulk supercharger is back from
being rebuilt looks awesome, also thanks for all your advice to this new boat
guy learning. I drilled the J pipe holes out to 3/16 cleaned out with compressed
air and then put it under the faucet and you can definitely see an improvement
in the water flow. Went a head and also got a new exhaust temperature sensor.
should have it all put back together this weekend.
