Hi,

Today was second time on Lake. My 2007 180 Challenger cruised away from the dock fine, but when it was time to throttle up, she did not and it felt like I was spinning my wheels. I did not like the sound, so we pulled her out. Engine sounds great idling and cruising @ 2 mph. She only has 2 hrs registered. Any ideas?

Thanks,

did it do anything at all? how high did the tach go? you may have somthing blocking your intake grate. maybe your reverse gate is hung down in the neutral position. just a thought.

Yes we had no problem going forward or backward. We could only do a few miles per hours. I am new to Sea doo. In all of the comotion, I did not look at the RPM. We turned it off. Put her in reverse and I had my son check the grate for any debris. Should I be looking deeper inside the grate?

I have a small piece of rope caught around the shaft. Anyone know what socket size I need to take off the bolt on one end of the grate? The three smaller bolts came off easy but I am not sure what socket size to use for the other. Anything I should know about taking off this grate?

grate....

im not sure what the bolt size is, but do you have to take the grate off? if you have the ICS button, just push it and let it come down and then kill the bat... but i think some of these boats didnt have that option.... or just get a big knife..... good luck! and i def think thats your problem. make sure that you check the wear ring for any kind of grooves worn into it! good luck!

not sure on the bolt size either but ill put $9 on it being metric. nevermind the ICS button. they discontinued it after 06. but pay close attention to the wear ring. if it has any kind of grove in it , it should be replaced for peak performance.
