Yesterday my boat suck some debris and after that when I tried to speed up the engine vibrates, at lower speed it runs ok, Now I have to pull the boat out of the water to check for debris however the launching ramp is about 5 Km away from my place, Is it ok to drive in lower speed or Do I have to tow?
Any suggestions?

Thank you
Alan

You can drive it but it sounds like there is either something still there or you have bad wear rings now. Drive it in. If you have it towed, you need to clamp off hoses...don't ask me which ones.

Thank you Sikiguya,
The water is bit cold in ottawa, on. I will see whether I could find anything in the grate area, if not then I will tow the boat.

yeah it sound like you have something stuck in there. usually a hunk of a limb or something will do that until you clear it out.

Finally last night I check the bottom of the boat and I see a stone stuck inside the propeller. I couldn’t remove the grate because on the bolt in there just spinning. Without removing the grate I cannot access the propeller.
Is any having any experience in taking out the grate and the other big metal cover next to that?
What is under that big metal cover?
Any help appreciated

The nut for the the bolt you're spinning is under the engine in the bilge. That's some nice engineering by SeaDoo. LOL.

Remind me not to suck anything up into the pump... that's a big FML right there. Is there enough room under the engine to get an open end wrench in there to hold the nut? Or is this as big of a job as it sounds?

We sucked up a piece of wood about the size of my thumb a couple months ago. Luckly we were near a marina that put us up on a travel lift and we used a long metal rod to wedge it out. No grate removal was necessary. We were on our way in less than an hour, most of which was waiting around for the marina guy to move his arse. Sucking up ropes, debris, rocks, weeds, etc. seems to be a real problem with these boats. Glad I have 2 engines so a problem with that is less likely to completely strand me, but I hate always having to worry if the day will get ruined by some goofy event like that....

Is there any way to prevent this sucking issue?
What will happen if we attached a wire mesh in the grate area? attach securely in a way so that the mesh doesn't pass through the grate.
