Hello all - As I've looked at different online SeaDoo parts suppliers, I see for the 2006 Sportster 150, an Edition 1 and Edition 2. How do I determine which edition I have? Is there a serial # difference for the two? Thanks, Steve

generally... it's what part of the world it was built in. Unfortunately... I'm not sure what version you have. You may want to ask a dealer.

Did some searching around and found this...

Assuming the info is correct, sounds like you will have your answer...

Edition1 has an 04/05 type motor/electronics setup, and the Edition2 has a 2006+ type motor/electronics setup. You can tell by the front oil pump, the head breather/TOPS valve location/type. Or according to the manual, and the 2 I've looked at, the 4th from last letter of the VIN. If the 4th from last letter is an "A" you have a version1 and you need an 05 ECU part# 420664947, and if it is a "B" it "should be a version2 and you will need an 06-07 ECU part# 420664946. The VIN should tell you, but go by the type of engine in it to be sure.

What we could do is, get a few pics of the 04/05 engine compartment and some of the various 06 models and we should be able to figure it out I would think...

Joe, thanks a lot, I'll check your SN information and try to take pics and post them. That may be a challenge, or at least resizing them on a new laptop. I'll try soon, Steve

I have noticed one thing that is different than what is pictured in my owners manual: my threaded flush port is on the starboard side, while the manual show's it on the port side. I don't know if this makes any difference in the edition of this boat...

No issues,,,,

We all learn as we go. That is why I try to do additional searches and what not. I'll never own a 2-stroke as I love my 4-tec engines. But I am a knowledge junkie when it comes to mechanics and how things work....
