hello just purchased this boat its in great shape but the problem is the last owner did not winterize it and it sat for 3 years and engines dont turn as per the old owner. i looked in the engine compartment and some hoses are off and theres no battery. im in ocean county NJ and cant find anyone who wants to work on it any help would be great.

Post some pics of the disconnected hoses. Do you have a fresh battery to put in it? What about the gas? 3 years old gas should smell pretty bad when you open the fuel filler.

Have you done anything to it since taking it home?

These motors aren't cheap. How much are you willing to spend to get this boat up and running? Can you get away with short blocks? If you can't find someone to do the work, how do you anticipate getting things fixed?

ill spend 6-7k to fix them. i have a shop looking at it he said he removed the sc and they motors were locked he is going to pull them and see what he finds inside so will see what happens. how are sbt motors? ive heard horror stories

Good and bad. I’ve had a couple brand new ones. Maintenance is key. Had to replace 1 within the same summer under warranty because of bad valves. But I’d still buy again. Especially with the price compared to others.

My 2 cents,

I find it hard to believe that both engines are frozen unless they both were under water. They are liquid cooled with a closed loop, so even if you don't winterize, the most common issue is a cracked exhaust manifold and that usually doesn't result in a seized engine.

I would pull both pumps before you make the determination that the engines are frozen. The pumps if not serviced regularly will seize as they are in the water. No grease or water intrusion in salt water and it is simple for them to freeze up.

Watch out with any mechanic if you know little about these boats as they could tell you anything and what would you know.

Take a bunch of photos and feel free to share them as many here can offer very good advice.
