I'm so confused. What is the mpem? Just figured out what the dess point was. But jet ski sat for a while. It had bad battery. Just replaced it and got nothing. Cleaned ground cables on engine. Ordered a new solenoid. But after taking old one out. I disconnected all the wiring harness plugs coming out of stering column cleaned out wire air. Hooked everything back up with old solenoid. Then started to hook battery up and it beebed. Started it up let run for 3 minutes to get rid of old gass in injectors. Then shut it down. New solenoid came in hooked it up and then nothing. Same problem as before. Tried testing for continuity to dess point but nothing. But don't know what a MPEM IS.Is it the key or something else im missing

On your ski it will be the black plastic box dogleg from your battery in the front of the engine. It will have two huge block connectors going into it. 1661.jpg's picture shows it on the left side of center.

Im not sure Im following the rest of the story - do you think the MPEM went bad? What caused you to think so?

I was reading some things people were saying about it going bad. When I got it running last weekend I noticed none of gauges were working. So I hooked everything up and checked all wires and fuses wasn't getting any power coming off to gauges or through any of the fuses. But don't know if the dess point has anything to do with power going to it. There are two wires coming off main power wire going to solenoid to that MPEM. There is two main connectors. And on each one are two sets of fuses. Just trying to trouble shoot what is bad and needs to be replace. Thank u for taking time to read previous thread

I didn't have continuity from dess point with key in it. Shouldn't it be a closed system with key in it. I haven't cleaned the keys out with alcohol. Was a little concerned while it was running because the gauges weren't working to see if any codes popped up. I have checked all wires and they were in very good shape. Just like all connectors they still had potrullum jelly in them. The machine is old, but I bought it brand new in 2006. Only has 25 hours on it. I barely had time to take it out. Was running it every month with water hose until battery started acting up. Also there was another thing it was doing before the battery finally gave out. Sometimes when I hit start button nothing. I had to hit it a couple times and then it would engage starter. That's why I figured it was the solenoid I ordered one on eBay. The new one looks a lot better made. Where as the old brown one had a metal back on it and looked like water could get in it. Where as the new black one is a solid piece.
