Runs bad

Your skis' have a bad habit of fouling spark plugs especially if they've been sitting for awhile. Replace them and odds are it will run fine. NGK DCPR8E is the plug you want and nothing else. DON'T experiment with different type plugs or heat ranges.
Good Luck, DAWG

Changed plugs and did not do it, I have 2 so I was able to check the plug wire also, plugs and wires worked fine in other machine. Also maybe thought from what I have read that the supercharger washers went, one post said to check to see if you can spin it by hand. Would not spin so looking for other ideas. Also checked compression, one cyclinder was about 8 pounds of from the others

How many hr on your ski and have any codes come up? Also maybe double check the plug gaps if you havent and put dieletrical grease on the coils. You have to skis??? try swaping the coil packs and see it that helps.

4-tec....

This is one of the downfalls to the 4-TEC. To a mechanic of a standard engine, your description sounds like you might have a dirty injector. But because this system is constantly tuned and changed by the ECM from the intrepertations from the info gathered by the MPEM, it could be a sensor like the throttle postion sensor.

Do you get any codes? Does this happen all the time? What kind of fuel are you using? You should be using high octane fuels. I'd be using only clean fuel with a good injector cleaner like Chevron's Tecroline (Techron)....

If you think it's possible it could be a dirty injector, you might try an off the shelf injector cleaner. Since your engines a 4 stroke, it shouldn't hurt it. Just be careful to read the instructions on how much to use with the volume of gas your tank holds. When mixed, use the entire tank of gas before putting any more in it...............

Swapped the coil packs and did not do it. They have 40 hours. As far as the codes, had condensation in guages,so I ordered online so I would not have to take it to the shop, never have good luck there. New guages come in, and they wont start with the new guages, I guess it has to be programmed, another good question. So I think Im slick so I start it then hook up the guage, but it wont even give me a fuel level when I do that, just an rpm and temp.

Accesories...

Anything you add to the 4-TEC engines system has to be programed with B.U.D.S. to work. It's the only way it will be allowed to be recognized. They are slowly taking away the plug and play........

Thanks for the heads up, dont have much luck with local shops. Sounds like they figured a way to do horrible work when they want at the price they want!

Stealership....

Yeah, I think 90% of us in the forum think the same way. That's why I"ve choosen this as a hobby. I normally help my neighbors around the river out, to keep them from being robbed at the stealerships.....

But, now then seem to be coming up with a way to keep us out of their profits by adding this requirement to the 4-TECS....Computers are plug and play, I don't see why they can't make things like, switching gage clusters.

Just another way for them to steal our money.

Maybe, you can find a regular repair facility that has the B.U.D.S. instead of taking it to a dealership............

Runs bad

Has the ski been in salt water conditions since it was new? Pull the plugs. Do they all look O.K.? SeaDoo has had a problem with the intercoolers (located in the intake plenum) getting pin holes in them from salt water corrosion. This will cause the engine to ingest small amounts of water while running especially at higher R.P.M.s which will cause a misfire. Here's what I would do if the ski were mine........I would disconnect the 2 water hoses from the intercooler (located at the front of the intake plenum) and connect them together with a piece tubing which will bypass the intercooler. Ride the ski and see if the miss goes away. This may take awhile especially if the plenum has water laying in it. If the miss clears up then you know the intercooler is bad. Good Luck,
DAWG
