2005 sportster SCIC engine knock

My 05 sportster SCIC is having issues running between 4500 and 5500 rpm. As soon as i hit that rpm range there is a loud knock from the engine compartment and it seems to stall briefly. It happens randomly theres no rhythm to it. I thought it might be bad gas setting off the knock sensor so i drained the fuel tank and filled it back up with 93 octane and its still happening. Anyone know what this could be? I guess my next step is to replace the knock sensor but it seems strange it only happens at that one RPM range. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I had a random knock like that in the same rpm range that went away after I replaced my fuel filter. Worth a shot.
