the dealer states 215 or 215 .year dont mater.
in fact he asked me if i wanted to purchase a new rxpx ski and hed swap the motor straight out of it .
whats the diffrence in the short block between years joel ?apart from there like rockin horse sh1t!

2004-2005 are nitorious for droping valves. In 2006 they revamped the motor and these are good motors they only fail when people dont take care of them, most likely yours dropped a valve do to 1, ingested water and wasnt cleaned out right or 2, wasnt winerized right meaning motor was never fogged. What happen is the the valves get wet rust then they let go.

Your dealer is full of s**t, The diffrences are:

the oil sensor system is reverse logic
the crank venting is difference
the crank pin location trigger is different
the ECU is different
the knock sensor integration is different
the guage programming is different
the wiring harness is also different
the Throttle body is different (needs to be programed to the ECU)

im sure there more just cant think of anymore right now.

yea i read about the valves somewhere maybe on here sodium filled or something being hollow on the outlets?
if i manage to get a new block and rebuild useing my old gear and if i replace the valves with the good stainless ones on the market would i eradicate these isues or would i still have to put a foging kit on it!

al in all it still dont explain the denting of the fan and around the fan erea of supercharger intake though? and the stems of the valves where not melted or coroded in any way !

ALL motors should be fogged when winterized. when you build or get a new motor just put 2006+ valve kit in it or even X valves they should all fit...
