Evening everyone,
I'm new to the seadoo world, but have had a polaris 780slt forever and a newer yamaha cruiser.
So I recently purchased a 2005 speedster 200 SC that got flooded. I actually pulled the motor out and looks like someone already tried to work on it because it was missing the pistons and crank shaft and some other parts, but they put it back in, so that was nice.
My question is, from my searches, it looks like the 185sc motor is common in the seadoo gtx.
Has anyone swapped these out before?
Is it a direct plug and go or is there a lot more work involved?
I've looked at sbt and they have options, but I'm not sure what else is wrong electronically with the one I've got.
Any thoughts or suggestions?
Thanks in advance for tour feedback...

From what I understand the engines are the same including electronics. You may be able to find a 185sc from a GTX but I would expect it would be hard to find.

BTW, doesn't the 2005 Speedster 200 have 2 185 engines? Was the other one fine?

It does...
Haven't taken that one out yet, I figure if I can get one running then I'll pull the other one.
If I pull both, I'll never figure out where all those wires and hoses go when I try to put it back.
LOL...

Thanks for the response...
Anyone aware of other models that have the same motor?
That's a start, I've seem some wrecked GTX's that hopefully go pretty cheap.
