2005 seadoo rxt motor issue

my friend in atlanta has a 2005 seadoo rxt with about 40 hours on the engine. Bought used last year and was perfect.

Had trouble running after spring tune up and was told that there was too much oil in the engine and it need a complete motor. Is that possible as to me it makes no sense or the dealers is trying to sell both halves before it is broken.

Any thoughts on this issue. Thanks.

It's possible that it has a rotary valve seal problem...which allows injector oil used to lube the rotary shaft and gear in the crank cases, to enter the cylinders and foul the spark plugs. This eventually will not allow the engine to start or be reliable as the spark plugs will constantly be fouled. If in doubt get a second opinion.
