Just took out the Islandia (250 Optimax) for the first time this season after sitting in storage since October. It smoked for a minute or two, but that is expected when burning off the fogging oil.

The problem is, I have a consistent beeping, about once every second that never stops. The oil tanks are full, cant really see anything obviously wrong. When giving it WOT after warming up for about 20 minutes, it seemed to be missing with a slight loss of power.

Does anybody know if the constant beeping could be related to the engine missing? I was going to run it for 2-3 hours before changing the plugs, but may need to do it sooner.

Consent buzzing is your over temp alarm. Did you make sure the water was flowing from the pee-hole?

It's not a consistent beeeeeeeeeeeeep, it's more like a backup beeper on a garbage truck. It started about 5 seconds after starting the engine after 6 months of storage. Water was flowing from the pee-hole like normal.

OK........

There is 2 buzzers in your boat. One is under the Helm (that's the sedoo buzzer) and the other is on the harness in the healm. (That's the Merc Buzzer)

I'm going to assume it's from the Merc buzer.

So... a beeping is an alarm. On the newer smartcraft ECU's... It could be low oil, water in the filter, oil pump, injector, ignition, or any host of errors.

So... if you checked that there is oil in the header tank... and it not a consent over temp... then you need to hook to a Merc DDT unit to read out the computer. But... the price of the trip to a Merc dealer could be more than buying a basic smartcraft gauge. They can read out the trouble codes.

With my limited "Optimax" knowledge... the beep you are talking about is one of the engine senders that is out of range.

If it's the Seadoo buzzer... it could be the low voltage, or low fuel beeper. Did you try to push the fuel and battery button?
