Hey guys I am new to the forum but have been lurking for a while. I am about to pull the trigger on my first Seadoo boat. Its a really clean 2004 4tec. The seller is asking $4500 which I think is a pretty good deal. My question is weather or not the motor is powerful enough to pull a double tube or a wake boarder. I will be putting a tower on it at some point. Is it possible to retrofit a supercharger onto the motor? Any feedback is appreciated.

I wish I could find them in my area for that price. They go for what seems a minimum of $8000 (Canadian) here.

It'll pull up a wakeboarder but there isn't much wake. I pull wakeboarders up on my 50hp outboard, just have to hang on for a while. I'm curious about the two tubes as well.

From what I've read, you cannot retrofit a supercharger on the base 4-tec.

We had no problem with 2 person tube on our 98 challenger dual 85hp. I think you would be fine

That's a good deal, as long as it's clean and everything works. I'm looking at the same boat here on the east coast, and $5K is the best I can do, which is low retail book value. At 4500, you're $500 under low retail book.

Well the POS seller sold it out from under me on Friday morning after I drove 3 hours to Reno Friday afternoon to pick it up like we had agreed. The worst part is that I had my kids with me and they were very excited for the new boat. Now the the best price I can find is a 2003 4-tec for $6200. Its in decent shape but has some spider cracks in the gel coat. Any body have any advice on the cracking?

Amazing prices - I got an 06 for 7000, with 600 hrs on it, and ALOT of damage to the body.
Had to get it reupholstered and spend a total of over 200 hrs repairing the body and other things.

Really horrible what the seller did - sometimes people lack integrity.
