Hi! I just picked this up last month. I launched it up at my cabin. Just went for a quick blast and it seemed fine. I was going to go into the pier and was playing around so I spun it out and then it wouldn't go over 6000 rpm. So I took it out right away. It had blown the coupler off coming out of the external cooler. Put that back on and the gas smelled old to me so I drained and filled with fresh. Found the intake bolts loose. Tightened them up and looked over the rest and didn't see anything else. After this it would start up and a second later start running rough and then die after about another two seconds. So I wound up towing it back home with me to get it running again.

Here is what I have done so far after getting it back. I put new spark plugs in it. I checked to confirm the supercharger was spinning and it is. I pulled the hose from the external intercooler to the throttle body to see if any sign of water coming out with it running. Didn't see anything it looked dry. Just to confirm I pulled the intercooler out. Was dry inside and clear with nothing blocking it. Ran water through the water passage and it flowed good with no leaks. Put it back together and would start and die within a couple seconds. Weird thing is I pulled the hose off the throttle body and completely away from it. It stayed running and I could rev it up. Put the hose back on and back to dying. Hose back off and stayed running. A couple days later when I had a chance to look at it again there was no differance with the hose on or off. I was thinking it was a fuel pump problem. I pulled the hose off the rail. When you put the dess on it shoots fuel out for prime and then when pushing the start button it pumped a lot of fuel. You can also hear the fuel pump running for a couple seconds after it dies out. When you start it up if you chop the throttle real quick by just tapping it real quick letting it return right away it stays running. I sprayed carb cleaner in the throttle body while cranking it over. Wouldn't start, but after stopping the crab cleaner spray after it cleared out it started again. I should mention when I pull the plugs they look good. No extra gas on them. With the plugs out and cranking you can see a mist of fuel coming out of the cylinders. Looks normal. Can hold the throttle wide open to stop and clear fuel from coming out. It does have the maintenance sensor on when starting. The guy told me the dealer told him that's the racing ECU that does that and that they all will with that ECU. Below is a list of what is on the jet ski. Thanks ahead for any advice or ideas.

Uhm.....is this with motor off, spinning with your finger?
A couple days later when I had a chance to look at it again there was no differance with the hose on or off.
does this mean it still dies after a coupla secs?

Is this the first time you had the ski out?

Check the intake manifold...make sure some dumbazz didn't misalign a gasket or leave some crap in there.

I started the engine to see the supercharger spinning. I didn't try it by hand. I will try that.

Yes it still dies after a couple seconds. If you stab the throttle kind of chopping it letting it return to idle and doing it again right away it will rev and stay running. It seems like fuel problem to me. I pulled the fuel line off and when you put the dess on the pump primes and fuel pumps out. Hit the start and it really pumps out. When it dies out I can hear the fuel pump run for another two seconds or so.

Was the first time in the water.

I will check the intake manifold and see. I had found the bolts all loose. They didn't use any locktite on any of them so I was going to pull them again to locktite and torque anyway. So I will check that out.
