My GTI LE will only get to about 30mph. If I hit a wave hard, it will occasionally speed up and hit ~45mph which is what is able to do last year, then it will go right back to only hitting 30 once I start to turn or do anything to put strain on it. I've replaced the plugs. Thoughts. Thanks!!!

I would check compression,,,but do a load test first on the battery,,,need a full,100%'battery for a proper compression test.,,,and to rule out the battery from the getgo,

Thanks @POPPS. New battery, bought earlier this year and charged before checking. Getting 125 and ~115. Time for a rebuild? My other Seadoo is at 135 for both cylinders.

I don't like 135. :D I've found a lot of damage on inspection with compression of 130psi. Do it early before it tears up. Good Luck !

Hey Beeperd, I just bought a couple of 2005 gti's with the 717 engine in them and I am having the exact same problem, did you ever rebuild your engine and did that resolve the problem?
