I am new to Seadoo forum and looking for assistance. I purchased a 2004 Seadoo 3d last year and it worked great. I winterized it end of last season. This weekend I pulled it out of storage and it would not start…sounds like starter not getting enough juice, I heard a knock from starter area (I get 2 beeps when install key & all fuses are good). Warning light is on, but this light always seemed to be on last year when I start the ski and turned off after starting.

I noticed the battery voltage was dropping from 12.5v down to 7.5v when trying to start. Figured it was a battery issue so Installed new battery (charged it before installing)…heard knock so same issue, but did get a bit more engine rotation but not very much, so basically the same issue. I then installed new sparkplugs…same issue. Thought engine might be seized so I pulled plugs and cranked engine - engine turned over & pistons are moving freely…so assume is not seized/locked. I did notice some oil/gas mixture coming from engine when cracking but assume this is normal? How much oil/gas should come out when plugs are out?

I load tested the battery and it was a bit low, so I connected a car battery to the 3d and tried starting; the engine turned but would not start…and did get a voltage drop. It seems like an electrical problem; since I am getting voltage drop from 12.5 down to 7.5 could this be a Solenoid issue…replace it? Could the starter be bad? Any other suggestions? Thanks!

Check your connections for corrosion, if that dosnr work then rebuild your starter with an OEM kit

I finally figured it out, the engine was hydro-locked due to a small oil leak. Over the winter oil dripped into the cylinders and the compression was too high which kept the engine from turning over. I cleaned out the oil by removing the spark plugs and turning over the motor; it was a bit of a mess but the ski now fires right up.
