2003 Sportster boat - stuck in reverse

Hello, just got back from a boat ride and while docking, from neutral I pushed the lever to forward and the boat went into reverse! I put it back into neutral and tried again. Same thing. Then tried reverse then forward and same thing.

I tried shutting the boat off, again, thesame thing!

Anyone experience this? Luckily, I was right beside my docking slip.

Any thoughts from anyone? Cheers.

Yes. Thank you.

I thought the bucket was stuck with some debris at first so I manually moved it a bit. I later disassembled the throttle and shifter assembly and noticed a snapped cable.
