2003 GTX Pump housing cracked - again

Looking for a reason for my pump housings cracking - this is the second one on my 2003.

Why? It's up at the grey tube on top and is causing my ski to set off my high heat alarm at high speeds (anyway I think this is the issue).

I just had the dealer replace my wear ring which I brought into the shop - can I put this on them? Heck at this point a "cost" housing would make me happy.

I'll answer my own question in case anybody cares for the answer.

Something - a rock or stick - went through the impeller and ripped up a 14 day old wear ring and most likely caused the crack to get bigger as it was very small before the wear ring was replaced.

The mechanic said it's the 4th one he's seen crack in the exact spot so it is in my opinion a design failure on Sea Doo.

They make an aluminum one that I will see if I can afford and hopefully stop having to replace housings.

upgrade to an aluminum pump. The plastic ones are junk, i went through 2 plastic ones do to them warping. seems like alot of money and it is, to switch to aluminum but well worht it in the end.
