Hi, does anyone know if the GTX DI can be converted to premix? I would like to convert it for piece of mind but I don't know if this will damage the fuel injectors.
I believe fuel injectors are delicate specialist components so I'm unsure if it can be done. Appreciate any input.

You definitely don't want to do that. Absolutely not. Do a good PM on the oil system, do your maintenance and it will be reilable. It's much easier to fill the fuel and oil tanks separately anyway. I'm old school and understand the peace of mind you are talking about. No pre-mix on injected skis and besides that the oil come into the engine in a different location on the DI.

I just finished this one. It needs to go for water testing.2003 GTX DI Clean UP Hull(10).JPEG

I kinda thought that but just wanted to throw it out there in case there was a way. I've just done the top end and like you I need to water test it. The oil system is working fine and filters etc have been replaced. I bought it needing the top end and it's my 1st fuel injected ski so I'm still learning about them.

I've ony worked with 3 DI's but I can say this, when they are working correctly... shazzam !! :D Way smooth on power delivery, seemless transitions at every speed, easy to start, and get good fuel mileage too. I don't keep them I just restore them. The fastest ski I've restored is the 2003 RX DI. Impressive !! They handle great, Good Luck!!

NOTE: Fog that engine a lot. I've noticed water on my spark plugs the next day after riding my 951 RX.

On a side note I did talk to the Dale that used to own fuelinjectorman.com about premix and fuel injectors, he said it would not hurt them at all but I don't add oil to the fuel after rebuilding like I do the carb skis. I did once add oil to a RFI fuel tank. No issues I just haven't done it since. :D

No premix on di skis it leans them out and they hurt the injectors adding premix to di skis does nothing to lubricate as fuel is directed into combustion chamber and then right out the exhaust.if your worried about not enuff oil or a broken pump really have not heard of pumps going bad and I've been at it a long time

Very interesting on the injection point for the DI. Dang sure would burn up the engine pretty quick.

Think about it they are designed for fuel and when you replace fuel with oil that has a low flash point it will not ignite.so you are making it run leaner than they already are.thats why when you delete oil injection you have to reset to have perfect jetting.very minor but on our drag sleds we mix our fuel at 60 to one everytime.and use yamalube 2r.that is the best consistent oil for clean plug reading.is it the best oil as far as reliability don't know and don't really care lol.but it is the best oil I've found as far as plug reading

Absolutely on something as high performance as your sleds. For stock skis like these there’s no need to change jetting when switching to premix. Although I would never tell anyone to go to premix on a stock Seadoo.

What I do tell my customers with older skis to add a tick of marvel mystery oil to the fuel it just ads a little insurance and does not hurt anything

They named that stuff correctly. I does good stuff and how it does it is a mystery.

My airplane engine is prone to getting stuck valves which is really bad so there is a lot of discussion about why this happens, and tricks and such. A friend of mine said this during the discussion, "There are two kinds of 0200 Engines, those the use Marvel Mystery Oil and those that have stuck valves. " :) Thanks for reminding me.... I'm gonna start putting that in my jet skis. I used to but I stopped. Good stuff thanks for sharing !!
