This has been just a brutal summer for my Seadoo. Last week, I picked up my 2003 GTX DI at the shop after putting in a new battery, starter, spark plug wires and fuel line. Had the O-Rings, RAVE Valves, and compression checked, and the shop tells me everything came out fine. Ran it twice since then, and it ran phenomenally, consistently maxing out at 55mph with good thrust and rpms around 6700.

So I go to run it yesterday, and it wouldn't turn over. We ended up jumping it, and it at least started, but the max we could get it to was 37mph, and the rpms were maxing at 6600. I wish I could be more eloquent, but when the throttle was pinned, it felt like it wouldn't kick into another gear.

I checked intake grate underneath, and there was nothing stuck. It's possible some pebbles may have gone through the impeller, but would that cause such a drastic drop off in speed? Aside from the impeller, what else could it be? As stupid as it sounds, could the loss of juice in my brand new battery affect the top speed? Could the battery issue indicative of something else? Or is it simply the impeller that needs replaced?

I would check your wear ring clearance...... also check your impeller for damage

One More Thing...

It keeps getting better. So yesterday we ran it for about 2 hrs in the lake, never turning off the engine for fear that we wouldn't be able to start it up again. I go to start it up today, and it starts, but the maintenance light is now on. The ski only has 75 hours on it, so I'm hoping it's just a regular maintenance thing. Given that I don't have any repair equipment, is there any way to reset the maintenance light so it doesn't turn on?

Check that you are getting fuel into both cylinders remove the plugs (and ground the wires) turn it over it should mist fuel. if one cylinder is not getting fuel there will be no mist. could be a air injector or bad wiring contact. My XP-DI is in the shop with a similar problem. The shop has narrowed my down to the contacts to the aft air injector. Do you have new plugs? try changing them as well
